Fountain Creek Brass Band is a traditional British-style brass band
based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We perform regular concerts
around the Colorado Springs and South Denver areas, promoting the
development and continuation of music in educational settings and the
community. The Fountain Creek Brass Band was established as a non-profit
organization in 1998.

| FCBB Winding Up Summer Concert Season with August 14th Concert |
Frank Hilligas, Norlynn Nelson, Rick Phelps, Rick Tiller, Rebecca Gillespie, Bob North, and Jeremiah Fowler, performed as a part of the 2008 Colorado Brass Band's summer workshop from June 23-27. A concert was given on Friday evening on the Western State College campus The band, directed by Steven Asheim, was comprised of members from eight different USA brass bands including members of the Rocky Mountain Brassworks and FCBB. The concert featured The Land of the Long White Cloud, a test piece by Phillp Sparke, depicting the Maori migration to New Zealand, Buglers Holiday performed by a tuba trio, Disney Spectacular by Goff Richards, and a euphonium solo by Francis Laws on the classic Puccini theme from the opera Turandot, Nessun Dorma. Bob North's arrangement of The Whistler and Her Dog featured Deirdre Fotescu who recently retired from the woodwind faculty at Western State and has performed the piccolo solo on Stars and Stripes Forever for many years with the band.

The Fountain Creek Brass Band's summer concert season will conclude with our August 14 concert which will feature some of the highlights of our earlier concerts including the James Bond Medley, William Tell Overture, Grand Duchess Gallop, and a medley of armed service songs. As always, a variety of British and American marches will be performed including The Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa. This final concert begins at 7:00 PM sharp, so bring a friend, a picnic dinner and catch one of the best performing groups in the Front Range region! |
